THE ARAB PROPHET

AS SPOKEN OF IN THE BIBLE

We read the following words in the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 18 verse 18 :

“I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and

I will put my words in his mouth.”

If these words do not apply to Muhammad, they still remain unfulfilled.

Jesus himself never claimed to be the prophet of this prophecy. Even his disciples

were of the same opinion: they looked to the second coming of Jesus for the

fulfillment of the prophecy ;

“Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things,

which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world

began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, a prophet shall the Lord your God

raise unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall you hear in all things

whatsoever he shall say unto you.” ( Acts 3: 21 – 22)

So far it is undisputed that the first coming of Jesus was not the advent of the

“ Prophet like unto thee,” and his second advent can hardly fulfill the words.

Jesus as is believed by the Christians will appear as a judge and not as a law

giver; but the promised one has to come with a “fiery Law” in “his right hand.”

In ascertaining the personality of the promised one the other prophecy of Moses

Is, however, very helpful where it speaks of the shining forth of God from Paran,

the Mecca mountain. The words in the book of Deuteronomy, chapter 33, verse2

is read as follows :

“The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth

from Mount Paran, and he came with ten thousand saints; from his right

a hand went a fiery law for them.”

In these words, the lord has been compared with the sun. He comes from Sinai,

he rises from Seir, but he shines in his full glory from Paran, where he had to appear

with ten thousand saints with a fiery law in his right hand.

None of the Israelites, including Jesus, had anything to do with Paran. Hagar, with

her son Ishmael wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba, who afterward dwelt

in the wilderness of Paran ( Genesis 21: 21 )

Ishmael married an Egyptian woman, and through his firstborn, Kedar gave descent

to the Arabs who from that time till now are the dwellers of the wilderness of Paran.

And if Muhammad admittedly on all hands, traces his descent to Ishmael through

Kedar appeared as a prophet in the wilderness of Paran and re-entered

Mecca with ten thousand saints and gave a fiery law to his people is not the

Is the prophecy above-mentioned fulfilled to its very letter?                                                                              1

The words of the prophecy in Habakkuk are especially noteworthy. His ( the Holy

One from Paran) glory covered the heavens and the earth was full of his praise.

The word “Praise” is very significant, as the very name Muhammad literally means

“ the praised one.” Besides the Arabs, the inhabitants of the wilderness of Paran had

also been promised a revelation :

“Let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.

Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands. The Lord

shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war, he shall

cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.” ( Isaiah xlii. 11 )

In connection with it, there are two other prophecies worthy of note where references

have been made to Kedar. In chapter 9: 1 – 7 of Isaiah we read: -

“Arise, shine for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon thee ….

The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all

They from Sheba shall come …. All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee; they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I shall glorify the house of my glory.”

The other prophecy is again in Isaiah 21: 13-17 where we read ;

“The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye traveling companions of Dedanim. The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fleeing. For they fled from the swords…and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war. For thus hath the Lord said unto me, within a year, according to the years of a hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail: and the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished.”

Read these prophecies in Isaiah in the light of one in Deuteronomy which speaks of the shining forth of God from Paran. If Ishmael inhabited the wilderness of Paran, where his wife gave birth to Kedar, who is the ancestor of the Arabs; and if the sons of Kedar had to receive revelation from God; if the flocks of Kedar had to come up with acceptance to a Divine altar to glorify “the house of my glory” where the darkness had to cover the earth for some centuries, and that very land had to receive light from God; and if all the glory of Kedar had to fail and the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, had to diminish within a year after one fled from the sword and the bent bows – the Holy One from Paran (Habakuk 3 : 3) is no one else other than Muhammad (SAW). Muhammad is the holy offspring of Ishmael through Kedar, who settled in the wilderness of Paran. Muhammad (SAW) is the only prophet through whom the Arabs received revelation at a time when darkness covered the earth. Through him, God shone from Paran, and Makkah is the only place where the house of God is glorified and the flocks of Kedar come up with acceptance on its altar.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  2

Muhammad(SAW) was persecuted by his people (the children of Kedar) and had to leave Makkah. He was thirsty and had to flee from the drawn sword and the bent bows, and within a year after his flight, the descendants of Kedar meet him at Badr to do battle. Badr was the place where the army of Muhammad (SAW) and those of the Makkans met for the first time to do battle. It was here that the children of Kedar and their number of archers diminish and all the glory of Kedar fails. If the Holy Prophet is not to be accepted as the fulfillment of all these prophecies then they still remain unfulfilled.

“The house of my glory” referred to in Isaiah lx : 7 is the house of God in Makkah and not the church of Christ as thought by Christian commentators. The flocks of Kedar, as mentioned in Isaiah 60 : 7, have never come to the church of Christ; and it is a fact that the villages of Kedar and their inhabitants are the only people in the whole world who have remained impenetrable to any influence of the church of Christ.. Again, the mention of ten thousand saints in Deuteronomy 33 is very significant. He shined forth from Paran, and he came with ten thousand saints. Read the whole story of the wilderness of Paran and you will find no other event but when Makkah was conquered by Muhammad(SAW).

He comes with ten thousand followers from Madina and re-enters “the house of my glory.” He gives the fiery law to the world, which reduces to ashes all other laws.

The Comforter – the spirit of truth spoken of by Jesus was no other than Muhammad (SAW) himself. “the Spirit Of Truth” cannot be the Holy Ghost, as the book of John says:

“It is expedient to you that I go away,” says Jesus, “for if I go not away the Comforter will not come unto you, but if I depart I will send him unto you.”

(John 16 : 7 )

The words clearly show that the coming of the Comforter was conditional. The comforter will only come after the departure of Jesus, and was not with him when he uttered these words. Are we to presume that Jesus was devoid of the Holy Ghost if his coming was conditional on the going of Jesus : besides the way in which Jesus describes him makes him a human being, and not a ghost or a spook.

“He shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear that he shall speak,”

Shall we presume that the Holy Ghost and God are two distinct entities and that the Holy Ghost speaks of himself and also what he hears from God? The words of Jesus clearly refer to some messenger from God. He calls him the Spirit Of Truth, and so the Quran speaks of Muhammad, “Nay,he has come with the truth and verified the apostles.”

Dear reader, many Christians are ignorant of the fact that the Holy Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, was an Arab and was a direct descendant of Ishmael through Kedar who was Ishmael’s firstborn. The Bible tells us that Ishmael was the father of the Arab race. The only Prophet through whom revelation came to the Arabs was Muhammad (SAW).

                                                                                                       3

The descendants of Ishmael were not only BLESSED by god, he also promised to make them a GREAT NATION. ( Genesis 17 : 18 – 20 )

The words BLESS and GREAT NATION are very significant. To achieve the BLESSING of God one cannot afford to follow a false religion or false worship. If one does this he will surely earn God’s wrath. Remember what God did to the children of Noah.

To earns God’s blessings one has to follow the true religion, a religion that is revealed by God, His religion, and most definitely the religion with the Arabs is Islam, which earned them God’s blessing. And the making of A GREAT NATION came only with the advent of the Holy Prophet Of Islam Muhammad (SAW).

In Genesis 12 : 2 – 3, God promises Abraham :

“and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing : and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee : and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

How clear this verse is, because Muslims are the only people on the face of the earth who bless Abraham five times a day in their daily prayers every day of the year.

Count the “Blessings” that God Almighty bestows on Abraham as regards to his seed.

In Genesis 12 : 7 we read :

“And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land.”

A son promised to Abraham – Genesis 15 : 3 – 6 ;

“And Abraham said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed ; and , lo, one born in my house is mine heir. And behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now towards heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them : and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”

Gods promise to Abraham before the birth of Isaac : Genesis 15 : 18

“In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates.”

Gods Promise to Hagar the wife of Abraham : Genesis 16 : 10 – 13

                                                                                                      4

“And the angel of the Lord said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude. And the angel of the Lord said unto her, Behold thou art with child, and shall bear a son, and thou shalt call his name Ishmael; because the Lord hath heard thy affliction. And he will be a wild ass of a man; his hand will be against every man, and every mans hand against him ; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.”

The sign of the COVENANT : CIRCUMCISION. Genesis : 17 : 9 – 14 :

“And God said unto Abraham, Thou shall keep my covenant therefore, thou and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every male child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every male child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised : and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised man whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenent.”

After this covenant the birth of a son (Isaac) to Sarah is announced. When this announcement is made, Abraham says unto God : Genesis 17 : 18 – 20.

“and Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shall call his name Isaac : and I shall establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee : Behold I have blessed him , and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.”

Genesis 17 : 23 - 26

“And Abraham took Ishmael his son …. And Abraham was ninety and nine years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin. In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.”

God tells Abraham : Genesis 21 : 13

“ …and also the son of the bond woman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.”

                                                                                                     5

And the angel of the god promises Hagar the mother of Ishmael : Genesis 21 : 17 –1

“And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of god called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? Fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad to drink. And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer. And dwelt in the wilderness of Paran : and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.”

The death and burial of Abraham. Genesis 25 : 9

“And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah.”

The descendants of Ishmael. Genesis 25 : 12 – 18

“Now these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son , whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham : and these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names according to their generations : the first born of Ishmael, Neba’joth; and Kedar, and Ad’beel, and Mibsham, and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa, Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Ked’emah : these are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations. And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years : and he gave up the ghost and died, and was gathered unto his people. And they dwelt from Hav’ilah Unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria : and he died in the presence of all his brethren.”

The right of the first born:

In Deuteronomy 21 : 15 – 17 we read :

“If a man has two wives, and he loves one but not the other, and both bear him sons, but the first born is the son of the wife he does not love, when he wills his property to his sons, he must not give the rights o the first born to the son of the wife he loves in preference to his actual first born, the son of the wife he does not love. He must acknowledge the son of the unloved wife as the first born by giving him a double share of all he has. That son is the sign of his fathers strength. The right of the first born belongs to him.”

                                                                                                     6

Who was sacrificed, Ishmael or isaac ?

According to the Torah only the first born could be sacrificed, were it an animal or a human being. It was for this reason that Abel had sacrificed only the first born lambs.

God addresses the following words to Moses : Numbers 8 : 17 :

“For all the first born of Israel are mine, both man and beast.”

The first preference given to the first born could in no way be ignored. In the Torah, it is laid down that : Deuteronomy 21 : 15 - 17

“If a man has two wives, one whom he loves, and the other whom he does not love, the first born shall have preference, no matter if he is the son of the wife he does not love.”

The offspring who was dedicated to God did not inherit anything from his father. (Deuteronomy 10 : 8 – 9)

Having noted the facts just mentioned, we should follow the following arguments : -

1)     Isaac was born after the birth of Ishmael, and as such he can in no way be regarded as the first born, as only the first born could be sacrificed. So the command for sacrifice could in no way be intended for Isaac.

2)     Isaac inherited all his fathers patrimony, on the other hand Ishmael and his mother were given a send off with nothing but a skin of water. This is a clear indication that Isaac was not dedicated to the service of God but Ishmael. The Torah mentions that when God informed Abraham of the birth of Isaac, Abraham cried :

“Oh! That Ishmael might live in thy sight.” (Genesis 17 : 18).

In the Torah whenever the words “Live before thee” or “in thy sight” occur, they are always in the sense of offering sacrifice (dedication).

Ishmael was loved by Abraham most. The whole of the Torah is a one sided story of Isaac, yet it sets out the characteristics of both Ishmael and Isaac.

Isaac was born as a result of a promise made by God, on the other hand Ishmael was born as a result of Abrahams prayer. Abraham was blessed with this son in answer to his wish and prayer.

(Genesis 15 : 1 – 17).

It was for this reason the first born was named Ishmael.

Ishmael means “God Heard”, that is to say God heard the prayer of Abraham and Ishmael his son was born.

                                                                                                7

God tells Abraham : “As for Ishmael I have heard thee.”

                                                                                    (Genesis 17 : 20)

Furthermore when God promised that a son would be born to Sarah, then too Abraham remembered Ishmael.

In short as Abraham in his dream had been ordered to sacrifice his dearest son, and so it was Ishmael and not Isaac who was sacrificed.

The Torah says that when Abraham was about to slaughter his son, the angel of God called to him and said : - Genesis 22 : 16

“Because you have done this, and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will indeed bless you, and I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the sea shore.”

Kedar AND HIS DESCENDANTS

In Isaiah 42 : 11 – 13 we read : -

“Let the wilderness (Arabia) and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit; let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains. Let them give glory unto the Lord and declare his praise in the Islands. The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man.”

In this verse, The Hebrew word for Arabia is “Midbar,” which means “Desert Valley Where Nothing Grows,” this is Arabia. In the Book of Jeremiah 3 : 2 it is written : -

“Lift up thy eyes unto the high places, and see where thou hast not been lain with. In the ways hast thou sat for them, as the Arabian in the wilderness.”

In this verse the Hebrew word “Midbar” has been translated as Arabia.

Kedar is the name of prophet Ishmael’s son, whose progeny lived and thrived in the Hidjaz (Arabia). On the advent of Islam Arabia and it’s settlement, and the settled parts of Kedar, rallied to the call of Islam and declared “Glory To God.”

Muhammad MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE BY NAME

In the Bible, In Hebrew, in the Song Of Solomon 5 : 16 we

read : -

“Hikko Mammittaqim Wi Kullo Mahammadim Zhi Dudi Wi Zih Re’ee Bainut Yarushalam.”

Translated into English it reads : -

“His mouth is most sweet, yea he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved and this is my friend O’ daughters of Jerusalem.”

You will see the Hebrew word “Mahammadim” has been translated into English as “Altogether lovely.”

The suffix “im” in “Mahammadim” is a plural of respect. In all eastern languages we have two types of plurals. We have plural of respect and we have a plural of numbers. In this verse the suffix “im” is used as a plural of respect, dignity and majesty, and not as a plural of numbers.

In the Hebrew language it is an admitted fact, that the “im” indicates majesty and respect, and not a plurality of numbers. Where a noun is followed by a singular verb or by a singular pronoun, then that noun must be treated as singular even though its form may be plural. This is Bible rule.

Like in Genesis 1 : 1 the first book of the bible we read : -

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

The Hebrew word for God in this verse is “ELOHIM.” Now if you will treat The word “ELOHIM” as a plural of numbers, then the translation of Genesis 1 : 1 should read : -

“In the beginning Gods created the heavens and the earth.”

In the Song Of Solomon in which the verse under discussion occurs, the “Beloved” mentioned by Solomon, has been followed throughout the song by a singular noun and a singular pronoun. Consequently the “im” in “Mahammadim” indicates majesty, dignity and respect. It is not a plural of numbers.

                                                                                                        9

In the Song Of Solomon 5 : 10, Solomon gives us a description of his “Beloved Mahammadim.” He says : -

“ My friend is of bright and ruddy, the chiefest among ten thousand.”

Anyone who has even a nodding acquaintance with the biography of the Holy prophet of Islam, will know that he was blessed with a bright face and a ruddy complexion, not the whitish colour of the European. And secondly, that at the time of the conquest of Makkah, the Holy prophet Muhammad (SAW) marched with an army of ten thousand, among who he had the pre-eminent position of a chief, he was the leader of ten thousand saints.

So these two descriptions that are mentioned by Solomon viz; “a bright and ruddy countenance,” and being “chief among ten thousand,” this description and prophecy is met with in just one personality in the history of the world, and that is the holy prophet of Islam. He, Muhammad (SAW), and no other, therefore, is the “MAHAMMADIM” of Solomon.
