🌙

What is Ramadan?

Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. It is a very special time when Muslims all over the world fast from dawn until sunset. But Ramadan is about more than just not eating; it is a time to grow closer to Allah (SWT) and practice being kind and patient.

📖
From the Holy Quran:

"The month of Ramadan is that in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion."

— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185
🌟

Why Do We Fast?

Fasting helps us learn self-discipline. It reminds us to be thankful for the food and water we have, and it helps us feel empathy for people who are hungry and less fortunate.

☪️
A Beautiful Hadith:

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

"When the month of Ramadan starts, the gates of heaven are opened and the gates of Hell are closed and the devils are chained."

— Sahih Bukhari

The Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr)

Inside Ramadan is a night better than a thousand months! It is called Laylat al-Qadr. This is the night the Quran was first sent down to Earth. We spend the last ten nights of Ramadan praying and making Dua.
