The Friend of Allah (Khalilullah)

Part 1: The Search for Truth

A young boy surrounded by idolsโ€ฆ yet guided by truth.

Long before he became one of the greatest prophets of Islam, Ibrahim ุนู„ูŠู‡ ุงู„ุณู„ุงู… was a young boy searching for truth in a world filled with falsehood. Born into a society drowned in idol worship, he would rise alone to challenge an entire nationโ€”including his own family.

A World of Idols

Ibrahim ุนู„ูŠู‡ ุงู„ุณู„ุงู… was born in a land where people worshipped everything except Allahโ€”idols of stone, stars in the sky, and even kings.

His own father was an idol maker, crafting statues with his handsโ€”objects that people would later bow down to.

From a young age, Ibrahim could not accept such beliefs. How could something made by human hands be worthy of worship?

๐ŸŒฑ A Mind Awakened Early

Allah granted Ibrahim ุนู„ูŠู‡ ุงู„ุณู„ุงู… wisdom from childhood. Even as a young boy, he questioned everything around him.

When he saw idols, he noticed something obvious:

  • They could not speak
  • They could not move
  • They could not benefit or harm

Yet people worshipped them with full devotion.

"Indeed, We bestowed aforetime on Ibrahim his guidance, and We were well acquainted with him."
(Qurโ€™an 21:51)

The Search for the True Lord

One night, Ibrahim ุนู„ูŠู‡ ุงู„ุณู„ุงู… looked up at the sky and began a journey of deep reflection.

He saw a star and thought:

"This is my lord."

But when it disappeared, he said:

"I do not like those that set."

Then he saw the moonโ€ฆ then the sunโ€”each time realizing that anything that disappears cannot be God.

"Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth... and I am not of those who associate partners with Allah."

๐Ÿ’ก Lesson for Us

Truth is not found by following the crowd โ€” it is found by sincerely searching for Allah. Ibrahim ุนู„ูŠู‡ ุงู„ุณู„ุงู… teaches us to think, reflect, and question falsehood.
