The Daughters of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Zaynab · Ruqayyah · Umm Kulthum · Fatimah al-Zahra (RA)

"Fatimah is a part of me. Whoever angers her, angers me." — Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Sahih al-Bukhari)

Introduction

Almighty Allah blessed Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with four daughters, all born from his beloved wife Khadijah al-Kubra (RA). Each of these noble women lived a life of extraordinary faith, sacrifice, and devotion—tested by hardship, separated from loved ones, and ultimately united with their father in the highest stations of honor before Allah.

They were not merely the daughters of a prophet—they were themselves women of towering character, courage, and deep Iman, whose lives illuminate the path for Muslim women across every generation.

📜 The Four Daughters of the Prophet ﷺ

  • Zaynab (RA)—the eldest daughter
  • Ruqayyah (RA)—the second daughter
  • Umm Kulthum (RA)—the third daughter
  • Fatimah al-Zahra (RA)—the youngest and most celebrated

All four were born in Makkah before the Hijrah, from the Prophet's ﷺ marriage to Khadijah (RA). They lived through the persecution of the early Muslims, the Hijrah, and the establishment of the first Islamic community in Madinah—and all four passed away before their father, except Fatimah (RA), who outlived him by a few months.
