After Ramadan—Keep the Goodness
Let Ramadan Change You Beyond the Month
🌿 Ramadan May End — But Our Journey Continues
Ramadan eventually comes to an end. The fasting stops, the nights of Taraweeh come to an end and the month we looked forward to passes.
But our relationship with Allah does not end with Ramadan.
The greatest lesson of Ramadan is that we can change. We can pray more consistently, spend time with the Qur’an, control our desires, give charity, make duʿa and remember Allah more often.
❤️ Don't Leave Ramadan Behind
Take the good habits you developed during Ramadan with you into the rest of the year. Even small deeds can become valuable when they are continued consistently.
```📖 Continue Worshipping Allah
Allah says:
وَاعْبُدْ رَبَّكَ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَكَ الْيَقِينُ
“And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death).”
Qur’an 15:99
```Worship is not limited to Ramadan. Our five daily prayers, Qur’an, duʿa, charity and good character remain part of our lives throughout the year.
🕌 Keep Your Salah Strong
During Ramadan, many people become more consistent with their prayers. Protect that improvement after Ramadan.
🕌 Five Daily Prayers
Make protecting the five obligatory prayers a lifelong priority.
🌙 Night Prayer
Continue voluntary night prayer according to your ability.
❤️ Pray With Khushuʿ
Continue working on sincerity and concentration in your Salah.
📖 Keep Your Qur’an Routine
Perhaps you read more Qur’an during Ramadan than you normally do. Instead of stopping completely, create a realistic routine that you can maintain.
Try One of These:
- Read a few pages every day.
- Read after one of your daily prayers.
- Listen to Qur’an while travelling or doing suitable tasks.
- Read the translation and reflect on the meaning.
- Learn and memorise a small portion at a time.
Choose a routine you can realistically continue.
```🌱 Small Deeds Matter
The Prophet ﷺ taught that the most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are done consistently, even if they are small.
— Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim
```🌙 Continue Fasting
Ramadan fasting may have ended, but voluntary fasting can continue throughout the year for those who are able and follow the relevant Islamic guidance.
🌙 Six Days of Shawwal
The Prophet ﷺ encouraged fasting six days of Shawwal after Ramadan.
📅 Voluntary Fasting
There are other voluntary fasting opportunities throughout the Islamic year.
If you have Ramadan fasts that you need to make up, prioritise completing those according to the applicable Islamic rulings.
🤲 Don't Stop Making Duʿa
During Ramadan, many of us turn to Allah with frequent duʿa. Continue that habit after Ramadan.
Make duʿa when you are happy. Make duʿa when you are worried. Ask Allah for guidance when making decisions. Ask Him to forgive you, protect your family and bless your future.
Duʿa is not only for Ramadan.
```❤️ Continue Giving
Ramadan often increases our generosity. Try to keep that spirit alive.
- Give charity according to your means.
- Help someone who is struggling.
- Feed someone who needs a meal.
- Support beneficial causes.
- Help family members and neighbours.
- Remember that kindness itself can be a form of charity.
🌿 Keep the Character of Ramadan
Ramadan is not only about hunger and thirst. It teaches patience, self-control, generosity, forgiveness and good character.
🌱 Your After-Ramadan Plan
- Protect the five daily prayers.
- Keep a regular Qur’an routine.
- Continue making duʿa and Istighfar.
- Give charity according to your ability.
- Continue improving your character.
- Fast voluntarily when appropriate and according to your ability.
- Keep good company and stay connected to the masjid and Muslim community.
Don't try to maintain everything at once. Choose a few good habits and build gradually.
```🌿 If You Slip, Come Back
After Ramadan, you may find that your worship becomes more difficult or that some habits begin to fade.
Do not think that you have failed completely.
If you miss a day of Qur’an, start again. If your worship becomes weaker, rebuild it. If you make a mistake, seek Allah's forgiveness and return to Him.
```👨👩👧 Keep the Goodness in the Family
Encourage your family to continue the good habits developed during Ramadan.
Perhaps you prayed together, read Qur’an together, ate Suhoor together or spent more time talking about Islam. Try to keep some of those habits alive.
A small family habit that continues throughout the year can be more valuable than a large habit that disappears after Ramadan.
```❤️ Be Grateful
Be grateful that Allah allowed you to experience Ramadan.
You may not know whether you will see another Ramadan. So ask Allah to accept what you have done and allow you to meet the next Ramadan in a state of faith and good health.
Alhamdulillah for every blessing.

🌙 Ramadan Was a Beginning
Ramadan may have lasted only one month, but the lessons of Ramadan can remain with us for the rest of our lives.
Keep the Salah. Keep the Qur’an. Keep the charity. Keep the duʿa. Keep the repentance. Keep the patience. Keep the kindness.
Do not ask only, “Did I complete Ramadan?” Ask yourself, “What has Ramadan changed in me?”
May the person we become after Ramadan be better than the person we were before it.
```🤲 A Final Duʿa
O Allah, accept our Ramadan from us. Accept our fasting, our Salah, our Qur’an, our charity, our duʿa and our Tawbah.
O Allah, help us carry the goodness of Ramadan throughout the year. Strengthen our faith, protect our families and keep our hearts close to You.
O Allah, allow us to remain steadfast in worship and grant us the opportunity to reach many more Ramadans in Your obedience.
Ameen. 🤲
