Shaʿban
Increase Your Qur’an
Ramadan is the month of the Qur’an. Shaʿban is the perfect time to begin preparing ourselves to spend more time with the Book of Allah.
```The Qur’an is not simply a book that we read. It is the speech of Allah, guidance for our lives and a source of mercy for those who turn to it.
Many of us hope to read more Qur’an during Ramadan. But if we wait until Ramadan begins to establish the habit, it can sometimes feel difficult.
Shaʿban gives us an opportunity to begin now. Even a few verses each day can become a beautiful and lasting habit.
🌿 The Qur’an Brings Guidance
شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ الَّذِي أُنزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ
“The month of Ramadan is that in which the Qur’an was revealed.”
Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185
```🌙 Why Start in Shaʿban?
Preparing for Ramadan does not mean trying to accomplish everything at once. It means gradually developing habits that will help us benefit from Ramadan when it arrives.
If we begin reading Qur’an regularly in Shaʿban, our hearts can become more accustomed to listening to the words of Allah and reflecting upon their meaning.
The goal is not simply to finish a certain number of pages. The goal is to build a relationship with the Qur’an.
📖 Read
Set aside a small amount of time every day for Qur’an reading.
👂 Listen

🌿 Small but Consistent
The Prophet ﷺ taught us that deeds which are done consistently are especially beloved, even when they are small.
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are done consistently, even if they are few.”
Sahih al-Bukhari
```🌱 Your Shaʿban Qur’an Plan
Step 1: Choose a regular time for Qur’an each day.
Step 2: Start with an amount that you can maintain.
Step 3: Read the translation if you do not understand Arabic.
Step 4: Write down one lesson or reminder from your reading.
Step 5: Ask Allah to make the Qur’an a source of guidance in your life.
```🌙 Shaʿban Reflection
Ask yourself:
“What can I do today to make the Qur’an a bigger part of my life?”
Do not worry about how much others are reading. Begin with what you can manage and build from there.
```🤲 A Duʿa for the Qur’an
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلِ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قُلُوبِنَا
“O Allah, make the Qur’an the spring of our hearts.”
Ameen.
