Shaʿban

Increase Your Duʿa and Dhikr

```
```

Shaʿban is a time to bring the heart closer to Allah. One of the simplest ways to do this is through sincere duʿa and regular remembrance of Allah.

```
Life can become busy. Work, family responsibilities, worries and daily routines can sometimes cause us to forget the One who created us.
Dhikr brings the heart back to Allah. Duʿa reminds us that we are never alone and that Allah hears us when we call upon Him.
As Ramadan approaches, let us make our tongues accustomed to remembering Allah and our hearts accustomed to turning to Him.
```

🌿 Remember Allah

أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ

“Surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.”

Surah Ar-Raʿd 13:28

```
🌙 Keep Your Tongue Busy with Dhikr
Dhikr does not require a special place or a long period of time. We can remember Allah while walking, travelling, working, resting or waiting.
Simple phrases such as SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar and Astaghfirullah can keep the heart connected to Allah throughout the day.
```

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ

SubhanAllah

Glory be to Allah.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Alhamdulillah

All praise belongs to Allah.

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allahu Akbar

Allah is the Greatest.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ

Astaghfirullah

I seek forgiveness from Allah.

```
🤲 Turn to Allah in Duʿa
Duʿa is an act of worship. We should ask Allah for what we need, seek His forgiveness and ask Him to guide our hearts.
We can make duʿa in our own language and speak sincerely to Allah about our worries, hopes, families, sins and needs.
```

📖 Allah Invites Us to Call Upon Him

وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ

“And your Lord has said, ‘Call upon Me; I will respond to you.’”

Surah Ghafir 40:60

```
🌱 A Simple Daily Dhikr Plan
```

After waking:
Begin your day by thanking Allah for another day of life.

After Salah:
Spend a few moments making dhikr instead of immediately returning to your daily activities.

During the day:
Keep your tongue busy with simple remembrance such as SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah and Astaghfirullah.

Before sleeping:
Make istighfar, thank Allah for His blessings and ask Him to forgive your shortcomings.

Every day:
Make a personal duʿa asking Allah to allow you to reach Ramadan and make the coming month a means of drawing closer to Him.

```
```

🌙 Why This Matters in Shaʿban

The Prophet ﷺ gave special attention to Shaʿban. In a narration from Usamah ibn Zayd (RA), the Prophet ﷺ explained that Shaʿban is a month people often overlook between Rajab and Ramadan, and that he loved for his deeds to be raised while he was fasting.

```
```

💭 Shaʿban Reflection

Ask yourself:

“How often does my heart remember Allah during an ordinary day?”

Ramadan will soon fill our days with worship. Begin preparing your heart now.

```
```

🤲 A Duʿa for Ramadan

اللَّهُمَّ بَلِّغْنَا رَمَضَانَ وَأَعِنَّا فِيهِ عَلَى الصِّيَامِ وَالْقِيَامِ وَتِلَاوَةِ الْقُرْآنِ

“O Allah, allow us to reach Ramadan and help us during it with fasting, prayer and recitation of the Qur’an.”

Ameen.
