The Resurrection
A poem on the day when every soul, from the first human to the last, will stand before Allah
"The Dead will be raised up to life again. That is a promise." — Dr. Ahmed Adam
Resurrection in the Hereafter
By Dr. Ahmed Adam
When the Trumpet is Sounded,
Everyone will come out of their places of burial.
from the humble unmarked pauper's grave
to the magnificent opulent Mausoleums of Kings and Queens—
They will all be brought in front of their Lord.
The people will be in a state of confusion.
& will question each other as to
who raised them from their beds of repose
in the grave?
This is the Promise of Allah (Subhaanahu Wa-Ta'ala).
And the Promise of Allah (Subhaanahu Wa-Ta'ala) is True.
The Dead will be raised up to life again.
That is a promise.
Every single human being
from the Prince to the Pauper,
from the King to the Queen,
from the first human to the last human,
from the Muslim to the non-Muslim,
from the rich to the poor,
from the Gnostic to the Agnostic,
from the president to the prisoner,
from the tyrant to the terrified,
from the oppressor to the victim,
from the brainy to the brainless,
from the saint to the sinner,
from the intelligent to the ignorant,
from the murderer to the murdered,
from the killer to the killed,
from the barbarian to the brilliant,
from the materialists to the mystics,
from the soldiers to the scholars,
from swordsmanship to penmanship,
from the socialites to the monks,
from the Warriors to the Worriers,
from the illiterate to the literate,
from the dictators to the selfless leaders,
from the Prophets to their People,
from the pious to the pompous,
from the believer to the unbeliever,
from the spiritual to the Sceptic,
from the Scientist to the Superstitious,
from the Creationist to the Evolutionist,
from the religious to the atheist,
from the humble to the haughty,
from the glutton to the ascetic,
from the reveller to the recluse,
from the Hollywood to the hermit,
from the entertainer to the worshipper,
from the terrestrial to the transcendental,
from the good to the evil,
from the abuser to the abused,
from the male to the female,
from all time periods,
from all geographical locations
and from all methods of burial
(burial in soil, burial in a marble & steel mausoleum, cremation, burial by sea, burial into outer space, nuclear weapon vaporization, burial by freezing, etc.)
will all be marshalled in front of
the One True God,
Lord and Supreme Creator of the Universe,
Allah (Subhaanahu Wa-Ta'ala),
without any doubt whatsoever.
What have you prepared for that day?
💭 A Moment of Reflection
Every distinction we draw between people in this life—wealth, status, fame, background—dissolves on that Day. All that will matter is what each soul has prepared. This poem is a call to pause and ask ourselves that very question, honestly, today.
