The Reality Facing Muslims Today

Today, as Muslims, we are at the crossroads of life. We are going through terrible, difficult times. If we are not bombed, massacred or starved to death, then we are falsely accused by the media of being fundamentalists, fanatics and terrorists.

Can we believe that little children with stones, a crippled Alim, Sh. Ahmad Yaseen, a blind old man Omar Abdul Rahman, are regarded as terrorists and number one enemies? The forces of oppression fear these people because of their faith and their uncompromising stand for Islam. With the destruction of the Soviet Union, they had to find another imaginary enemy to revive and promote their arms and weapons industries. They fear the rise of Islam, specially amongst the oppressed peoples, and regard it as a threat to their evil ambitions and their New World Order.

That is why "Ramadaan Mubaruk" Missiles were sent into Iraq. That is why Muslims are being murdered and massacred in Bosnia, Kosova, Palestine, Lebanon, Chechnya, Kashmir and Sudan — and Muslims in Iraq and parts of Africa are being starved. Iran, Sudan and Libya are accused of being terrorist states.

The Only Way They Know to Survive

The forces of oppression have understood the power of Islam better than some Muslim intellectuals. They know that the only way to destroy Islam is to get the whole world behind them to attack Islam and Muslims. They have been using the media and producing films to do this, and now they are using terrorist activities and blaming it on Muslims.

They know that Muslims stand for peace, justice, dignity and morality — and are against oppression, injustice, racism, alcoholism, gambling and prostitution. So they seek to destroy Islam, which they regard as a stumbling block in their ambitions to control the world and grab Muslim lands and resources.

The Deir Yassin Massacre – What is Being Celebrated?

While many celebrated Israel's 50th anniversary, the Palestinians were commemorating A'am al-Nakba — the Year of Calamity and Catastrophe. Let us reflect on the Deir Yassin Massacre of 1948, carried out by the Irgun, led by Begin and Shamir who later became Prime Ministers:

80 victims were killed and thrown down a well. Women were taken, stripped of their clothes, paraded naked, and killed afterwards. And let us not forget the massacres of women and children in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps.

The So-Called Peace Process

The so-called peace process is a farce — it should rather be called a Domination Process. While talking about peace, thousands of innocent men, women and children are being killed in Palestine and Lebanon. Three years ago, there was a mad bombing frenzy for 17 days non-stop, massacring innocent civilians and even bombing the Qana UN refugee camp in Southern Lebanon where people were taking shelter.

Some 190 people, mostly women and children, were massacred mercilessly — the worst massacre of civilians under UN protection in the history of the Middle East. Yet all the human rights organisations dare not condemn these acts, because their silence has been bought. The oppression still continues: massacres, tortures, murders, killing of children, assassinations, detention without trial, occupation, building of settlements — all in the name of "Peace." 4 million refugees are still not allowed back.

The Call for Muslim Unity

There are strong and powerful forces trying to destroy Islam and disunite Muslims. They do not care whether you are Shia or Sunni, Hanafi or Shafi, a strong Muslim or a weak Muslim. When they kill, rape and massacre — they do not ask whether you are Shia or Sunni. As long as you are a Muslim, that is enough for them.

There is a continuing conspiracy to disunite us, to make us weak, and to destroy our values and way of life. Look at what is happening in Afghanistan, Kashmir, Pakistan, Algeria, Egypt and throughout the Muslim world. They have succeeded in disuniting the Palestinians — this is all part of their strategy to capture Muslim Holy Lands and oil resources.

Double Standards of the West

Every day we hear about the Lockerbie plane crash, but never about the Iran-Air passenger plane deliberately shot down in 1988, killing over 290 people. Nobody bombs or applies sanctions against those who violate the human rights of Muslims. This exposes the hypocrisy and double standards of the western world and their agent, the United Nations.

It is a historical fact that those who oppress do not respect any peace treaties, UN resolutions, or human rights organisations. Everyday they concoct some lame excuse to delay their commitments. In Islamic history we know how they broke every treaty. They only respect the language of Jihad. The Intifada was gaining momentum and achieving victory — the cunning strategy was to make a quick deal to stop Hamas and halt the Intifada. But the inevitable victory has only been delayed.
