بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Prophet Ibrahim عليه السلام
The Father of Nations
Part 5: Family, Sacrifice & Legacy
The greatest tests… are given to the greatest believers.
After leaving his homeland for the sake of Allah, Ibrahim عليه السلام was blessed with a family. But his journey was far from over — the greatest tests of his life were still ahead.
The Valley of Makkah
Allah commanded Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to leave his wife Hajar and his infant son Ismail (peace be upon him) in a barren desert—a place with no water, no people, no life.
As he walked away, Hajar called out:
“Did Allah command you to do this?”
He replied:
“Yes.”
She said with full trust:
“Then He will not abandon us.”
💧 The Miracle of Zamzam
When the water ran out, Hajar ran between the hills of Safa and Marwah—desperately searching.
Seven times she ran… until Allah sent relief.
The angel Jibreel struck the ground—and water burst forth.
This was the blessed well of Zamzam—a source of life that continues to flow until today.
The Ultimate Test
Years later, when Ismail (peace be upon him) grew into a young boy, Ibrahim (peace be upon him) saw a dream—a command from Allah.
He was to sacrifice his own son.
A test beyond imagination.
A Father & Son
Ibrahim عليه السلام did not force his son. He spoke to him:
“O my son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think?”
The response of Ismail عليه السلام shook the heavens:
“O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, among the patient.”
⛰️ The Moment of Sacrifice
Ibrahim عليه السلام laid his son down…
Raised the knife…
And passed the test.
Allah called out:
“O Ibrahim, you have fulfilled the vision.”
A ram was sent from heaven—and Ismail was saved.
Building the Kaaba
Together, Ibrahim and Ismail (peace be upon them) raised the foundations of the Kaaba—the house of Allah.
As they built, they made dua:
“Our Lord, accept this from us. Indeed, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.”
An Eternal Legacy
From Ibrahim عليه السلام came generations of prophets… including Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
His legacy lives on in every prayer, every Hajj, every act of submission to Allah.
💡 Final Lesson
Ibrahim عليه السلام teaches us that true faith is built on sacrifice, trust, and complete obedience to Allah—even when it is difficult, even when it hurts.
عليه السلام
Peace be upon him
May Allah grant us the faith, strength, and sincerity of Ibrahim عليه السلام. Ameen.
