Part 5: The Test of the Golden Calf

Freedom was given… but would they remain faithful?

After crossing the sea, Allah blessed the Children of Israel with safety.

Musa عليه السلام was then called to Mount Sinai to receive divine guidance.

He left his people for a short time…

But even a short absence became a great test.

A man named As-Samiri misled the people.

He collected gold and created a calf statue.

Then he told them: “This is your god.”

🐄 A Dangerous Fall

Shockingly… many people began worshipping the calf.

The same people who had just witnessed miracles…

Fell back into shirk.

Harun عليه السلام tried to stop them.

“O my people! You are being tested!”

But they refused to listen.

When Musa عليه السلام returned and saw what had happened…

He was deeply angered.

Not for himself — but because the people had turned away from Allah so quickly.

Musa destroyed the calf.

He confronted As-Samiri.

And called the people back to repentance.
